Prof.ir. Karin Laglas
Karin Laglas has been the dean of the Faculty of Architecture since January 2011. Prior to this she gained 25 years of experience working in the built environment sector. After her degree in civil engineering from Delft, she started out at Twynstra Gudde as a construction project manager. She had a long career at international property developers MAB, working on inner city developments in the Netherlands and abroad. After spending some time working for MAB in Paris as Directeur du Développement, Laglas was appointed managing director of the Dutch branch in 1998. Several years later she became director of the internationally operating MAB Group. In 2004 she made the move to the investment company Rodamco, moving to OVG in 2007. Before taking up the post of dean, Laglas spent just over a year as the interim director of the Royal Institute of Dutch Architects (BNA).
During her career Laglas has worked closely together with architects and urban planners and is known as an experienced authority on Real Estate. Her particular area of expertise is inner city regional development in collaboration with public parties.
As well as holding the post of dean, Laglas is a member of the supervisory board at Koninklijke De Vries Scheepsbouw and Development Company Greenport Venlo, a member of the advisory board at Westfriesgasthuis hospital and a board member of the Forum for Urban Renewal.
