Fundamentals of Law
The research project ''Hoofdstukken Bouwrecht' (Fundamentals of Building Law) deals with the most important issues of Private Law Building Law: contracts between principal and architect, contracts between principal and contractor, design faults, construction faults, liability, fees, procurement, intellectual property rights etcetera. Central is the handling of the Standard Conditions in the construction industry, which have become of more and more importance.
Standard Conditions for contracts in construction industry are subject to changes over time. Furthermore each year a lot of jurisprudence appears. This research project orders jurisprudence and comments Standard Conditions. It will support practitioners in construction industry dealing with legal matters. It will support lawyers in construction industry alike. 'Hoofdstukken Bouwrecht' comments each of the Standard Conditions in the Dutch construction industry and is provided with a lot of jurisprudence, including jurisprudence not published elsewhere, notably of the 'Raad van Arbitrage voor de Bouw' (Court of Arbitration for the Building Industry) and the 'Arbitrage-Instituut Bouwkunst' (Architectural Arbitration Institute). This research results in authoritative books for scholars and for practitioners in building practice alike. The prestigious book series consists in 18 books. On a regular basis each book will be brought up to date with new acts, new standard conditions and new jurisprudence.
