Guest Lecture Prof. Kearns: neighbourhood regeneration in Glasgow
location: OTB Research Institute, Main Meeting Room
On Thursday 24 May, Professor Ade Kearns (University of Glasgow) will give a guest lecture on neighbourhood regeneration in Glasgow and the associated research program GoWell. The lecture will be titled: ‘GoWell: a unique combination of long-term renewal and research in urban regeneration in Glasgow’.
GoWell Glasgow
GoWell (Glasgow Community Health and Wellbeing Research and Learning Programme) is a programme that aims to investigate the impact of investment in housing, regeneration and neighbourhood renewal on the health and wellbeing of individuals, families and communities over a ten-year period. The programme aims to establish the nature and extent of these impacts, to learn about the relative effectiveness of different approaches, and to inform policy and practice in Scotland and beyond. In his lecture, Professor Kearns will not only address the aims, (policy) strategies and involved actors, but also reflect on the research design and the outcomes until present.
Prof. Ade Kearns
Ade Kearns is Professor of Urban Studies at the School of Social and Political Sciences, University of Glasgow. He is one of the Principal Investigators in the GoWell programme.
