The Department of Urbanism in collaboration with the sLIM foundation organises the 15th sLIM course on ‘High Rise in the Sustainable City. Tall Stories and Urban Legends about Skyscrapers & Skylines’.
Does high-rise really contribute to a more lively, attractive and sustainable city? And what are the lessons governments, developers and designers can learn form experiences with high rise and its performance? These questions will be addressed in the 15th sLIM series. The series consists of 4 full-day seminars and a final seminar in which participants will present their reflections on the themes discussed during the seminars.

Seminar 3 – High rise developments and integrale gebiedsontwikkeling
High rise projects can be used to initiate an urban development - give a project a face -, but can also slow done the development process. What are the advantages and disadvantages of high rise for integrale gebiedsontwikkeling? How many high rise buildings can a project handle and how many high rise developments should a city have?
