New director Graduate School A+BE

Management Graduate School A+BE
Since the autumn of 2011, the Faculty of Architecture has organised its PhD programme through the Graduate School A+BE. This Graduate School is part of the TU Delft Graduate School. Every faculty has its’ own Graduate School within this larger programme. The organisation and successful launch of the Graduate School A+BE has taken place under the supervision of Director of Research Frank van der Hoeven. Prof. H.J. (Henk) Visscher will take over the leadership of the Graduate School A+BE as of 1 July 2012. He will gradually take over tasks in the period leading up to 1 July.
Henk Visscher
After graduating at the Architecture faculty in Delft in 1991, Prof. H.J. Visscher became a researcher at OTB Research Institute. In 2001 he obtained his doctorate and in 2007 he became professor in Housing Quality and Process Innovation. He has carried out research into the Building Regulations Certification Compliance Check, systems and content of building regulations, introduction of the Building Profile (Building dossier), the protection of the title of Architects, and the introduction of a professional experience scheme. He is also coordinator of the OTB department Sustainable Housing Quality and together with prof. Vincent Gruis he is programme leader of Sustainable Housing Transformations. This is a joint research programme of the Faculty of Architecture and OTB and focuses on housing stock policies, quality management and sustainable building and management. Henk Visscher has been actively involved in acquisition and coordination of large research programmes and projects and leading PhD candidates. He acts as an important bridge between OTB's research programme and the Faculty of Architecture and brings the best practices of OTB's PhD climate with him.
