In the lead-up to the new Master Track of Landscape Architecture, starting in September 2010 at the Faculty of Architecture in Delft, the chair of Landscape Architecture invites you to a lecture series on LANDSCAPE and its place within the work of scientists, designers, artists and other professionals.

Each 3rd Thursday afternoon, starting in February 2010, 2 speakers from different disciplines with different viewpoints are invited to reflect on the meaning of LANDSCAPE in their work. The lecture series is open to students, academics, professionals and the general public.

Lecture by Ronald Rietveld

Ronald Rietveld is Landscape Architect and founded Rietveld Landscape after winning the Prix de Rome in 2006. Economist and philosopher Erik Rietveld (Harvard University) and Atelier de Lyon have been part of the studio’s core team from its inception. His work deals with contemporary problematique such as climate change, increasing urbanization, ecology and sustainability, infrastructure, and the changing meaning of public space.

Lecture by Frans Vera

Frans Vera is internationally renowned Ecologist working with the Dutch forestry commission. His work focuses on our image of nature and the role of human influence in natural environments. He is the author of several books including ‘Grazing Ecology and Forest History' and ‘Wilderness in Europe'. He will speak about changing role of landscape and the ‘machinery’ of nature.
