Admission A+BE
The admission procedure to the Graduate School of Architecture and the Built Environment is facilitated by means of an online application form.
Enrolment takes place twice a year at the start of each semester: in September and February.
Selection criteria
We receive many more requests for starting a PhD in Architecture and the Built Environment than we can possibly supervise. This means that we will make a selection based on:
- the scientific quality of your research proposal/idea;
- the societal relevance of your research proposal/idea;
- the quality of your curriculum vitae/portfolio;
- your fulfilment of our requirements.
You are expected to submit your application before the start of the semester (September, February). We guarantee that you will receive a decision on your application within three months.
PhD topics
In the application procedure you must indicate which of our research fields you are interested in.
There should be a clear link between at least one of these topics and your research proposal/idea. Your curriculum vitae and your portfolio of work should provide proof as well that you can be of value in this area.
In addition to your application, you may wish to present your research proposal/idea during the PhD review week that is held halfway each semester. During that review week you can also visit the presentations of the current PhD students in Delft.
